The Punjab Kings and the Royal Challengers Bangalore have had an intriguing prelude to the upcoming Indian Premier League season. This season’s Indian Premier League will feature teams that are vastly different from those that competed in the previous season’s tournament.
However, despite their impressive roster, the coaching staff for the Punjab Kings remains nearly unchanged. They’ve had a bad track record with tactics in the past, so could it happen again? There are some key players missing from RCB’s lineup, and there are questions about the team’s balance.
Although the best IPL betting sites pick RCB as the favourite to win, they only have a small lead over the other teams.

PBKS vs RCB Team Previews
For IPL 2022, the Punjab Kings have selected Mayank Aggarwal as their captain and provided him with a talented group of teammates. PBKS will be without a few key players, as will the majority of teams. In addition to Jonny Bairstow, Kagiso Rabada will only be available for the second match against the English team.
As a result, we may get to see some of the team’s reserve overseas players in action. A strong starting lineup is in place for the Red Sox. Shikhar Dhawan has had two incredible IPL seasons prior to this one, and he will once again lead the batting. When it comes to IPL betting, we always go with Shikhar Dhawan to score runs, and we plan to do so again this year.
Mayank Aggarwal is likely to be his opening partner, and Bhanuka Rajapaksa could be his third-stringer (in place of Bairstow). All-rounders will follow Liam Livingstone at number four. Here, Shahrukh Khan, Raj Bawa, and Odean Smith all need to be positioned in a way that allows them to shift around.
Rahul Chahar, Harpreet Brar, and Arshdeep Singh make up the bowling lineup, with Benny Howell and Nathan Ellis vying for the final spot.
For this first match, we believe Benny Howell has a better chance.
This is a formidable lineup, featuring a solid Indian opening pair, a potent middle order, capable all-rounders, and a death bowler with a proven track record. As previously stated, the key will be locating all of these players in the appropriate locations.
Punjab Kings Playing 11
Mayank Agarwal (c), Shikhar Dhawan, Liam Livingstone, Prabhsimran Singh (wk), Shahrukh Khan, Odean Smith, Rishi Dhawan / Benny Howell, Harpreet Brar, Arshdeep Singh, Rahul Chahar, Sandeep Sharma.
Royal Challengers Bangalore
At this late stage in his career, Faf du Plessis is expected to lead RCB and also be one of the team’s main batters. It’s safe to say that Faf du Plessis, who had great success with CSK, is an excellent choice for captain, but we’re concerned that his batting output may be waning at this point.
For the first time in their IPL history, RCB appears to have a better bowling lineup than a batting lineup. In the first match, Harshal Patel, Mohammad Siraj, Wanida Hasaranga, and David Willey are likely to participate. Josh Hazelwood is unavailable, but RCB still has an excellent bowling attack.
Another role for Shahbaz could be a spin-bowling all-rounder, which would provide more versatility for the team’s starting eleven.
RCB’s batting might be a problem for them.
It’s likely that Faf du Plessis will bat with either Anuj Rawat or Virat Kohli to begin the innings. Finn Allen is another option to open the batting, but he has a poor record in the Indian Premier League. Virat’s form has also been a concern for RCB for a long enough time. Sherfane Rutherford, Mahapal Lomror, and Dinesh Karthik could be in the middle of the batting order if a few early wickets fall.
That isn’t ideal. Also, having Shahbaz and Hasaranga in the lower middle-order is risky. A good batsman but not a powerful finisher in the Indian Premier League has been their downfall. When it comes to other T20 leagues, we’ve seen before that it doesn’t always translate into IPL success.
RCB’s playing eleven and squad have plenty of potential, but there are a lot of questions surrounding them. Although it isn’t the favourite, there may be value in wagering on it not winning.

PBKS VS RCB TOSS PREDICTION
The team that wins the coin toss is likely to prefer to start the game. Due to the fact that this is a nighttime game with lights, the dew may also be a factor. We believe that being able to chase is a huge advantage.

PITCH AND CONDITIONS
No rain is expected, but there will be a lot of humidity and possibly dew in Mumbai. At the DY Patil Stadium, the field is generally in excellent condition. It maintains a consistent bounce and pace throughout the match. This venue has a larger outfield than most, which means that the spinners have a bigger role to play.
However, the batsmen still have the upper hand in terms of the playing conditions. At this venue, we expect to see a capacity of around 170 people.

We’ll be placing a wager on the Punjab Kings to win the game.” It is our opinion that their power-hitting core gives them an advantage in the batting order. RCB, on the other hand, has a strong bowling attack, so this game could be a nail-biter.
