India’s performance in the current T20I series against the West Indies will please them greatly after their disappointing tour of South Africa. Each and every game that a team participates in will count toward their preparation for the T20 World Cup, which is just around the corner. India have done a good job of assessing their options so far in the series, and the West Indies will be hoping for something to fall their way before the series ends.
Both teams will go all out in the third match of the series to win the final T20I and answer some lingering questions about their respective lineups that have arisen thus far. Before the Windies return home and India prepares for their match against Sri Lanka, this would be the final test of the series. On Sunday, February 20th, 2022, the Eden Gardens Cricket Ground in Kolkata will host this game.
IND vs WI Team Previews
India has a 2-0 lead in the three-match series and will be satisfied with the way they have performed thus far. As captain, Rohit Sharma has done an excellent job, and the team has responded favourably. In the upcoming match, India will be testing a few more areas, and they’ve already given the impression that they will.
In the context of the series, this upcoming match is a dead rubber for Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant. Ruturaj Gaikwad may finally get a chance to play in the team after Kishan’s downsizing. On the other hand, it is expected that Shreyas Iyer will replace Virat Kohli at number three.
Indians will be looking to fill in some of the holes in their infrastructure even though there have been many successes. It was hoped that the addition of Ishan Kishan would help India get off to a fast start, but the strategy appears to be backfiring. Rohit Sharma has taken more risks at the top of the order than he is used to, leaving India two down and with few runs on the board twice in the two matches he has played thus far.
Yuzvendra Chahal and Ravi Bishnoi have performed admirably in the middle overs for India. Sharma used Chahal and Bishnoi effectively in the previous match, and that pair could prove to be a game-changer not only in the upcoming match, but also in Australia’s big grounds. It is possible that India will rest Bhuvneshwar Kumar in this match in order to give Avesh Khan a chance.
Whatever changes India makes in the upcoming match, they will still have a very capable team. When it comes to dealing with high-stress situations, India has fared better than its rivals. With the loss of two experienced players, India still have a strong team. A clean sweep in this series is entirely possible if they play up to their full potential.
India Playing 11
Ruturaj Gaikwad, Rohit Sharma (c), Shreyas Iyer/ Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan (wk), Venkatesh Iyer, Deepak Chahar, Ravi Bishnoi, Harshal Patel, Avesh Khan, Yuzvendra Chahal.
Since their stunning 3-2 win over England, the West Indies have been unable to replicate that magic. They’ve been far too cautious with the bat lately, which is uncharacteristic of their play in recent seasons.
There were many positives to take from West Indies’ previous match, despite their defeat. Although they haven’t won a game on the tour yet, they’ve come as close as they’ve come in the whole series. Nicholas Pooran’s dismissal in the 19th over by Bhuvneshwar Kumar swung the match in the other direction for the hosts.
Akeal Hosein and Roston Chase’s use of the bat in the West Indies’ batting strategy has surprised many people. West Indies scored just 41 runs in the powerplay while chasing 187 in the first ODI, and the same thing happened in the second ODI with different batsmen.
The West Indies have struggled with their bowling at the end of matches. While their bowlers were impressive in the first half of both innings, they lost control once dew set in. Odean Smith’s use in the first match was questionable because he is not known for bowling during the powerplay. It’s also odd to see him bat so far down in the order for someone who has the ability to hit ferocious hits against any bowler.
Both Rovman Powell and Nicholas Pooran can take heart from their performance in the second match. A win for West Indies would have been possible had it not been for these two. It’s still early in the series, but the West Indies aren’t too concerned about their performance thus far. Some good decisions in the field and a little more focus at the top could be the cure they need. This team will be extremely difficult for any other team to overcome if they are able to perform at their best.
West Indies Playing 11
Brandon King, Kyle Mayers, Nicholas Pooran (wk), Rovman Powell, Kieron Pollard (c), Jason Holder, Fabian Allen, Romario Shepherd, Odean Smith, Akeal Hosein, Sheldon Cottrell/Dominic Drakes.

IND vs WI Betting Tips
They’ve experimented a lot since their disastrous World Cup, and so far it seems to be working. They’ve won five straight, so they’ll be full of self-assurance. In order for India to take anything away from this series, they’ll have to do everything in their power. Over-promising and under-delivering is a familiar refrain for West Indies in this series. They’re a very good team that hasn’t quite reached its full potential. According to how the teams have performed so far in the series, India has an advantage. It has been difficult for West Indies spinners to take on India’s spinners, and that has been a major factor in the outcome of the match. Again, we expect this to be a significant factor. The Indians appear to be in a better position than their opponents on every measure, and we believe they will win this match. In order for India to win this upcoming match and secure a 3-0 series lead, you should bet on the Indians.
