IPL season is incomplete without a team’s regular captain changing. Ravi Jadeja will hand over the reins of command to MS Dhoni when CSK play their next game, and we’ve seen this happen before in recent years. At this point, most teams appear to be well-positioned to not only make the playoffs but also place among the top two teams overall.
A match between Lucknow Super Kings and Delhi Capitals will determine the fate of both teams in the tournament’s next match. Both teams have a good chance of moving on to the next round, but a defeat in this round would be devastating for either team. On May 1, 2022, the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai will host the match between the two teams.
DC vs LSG Team Previews
Delhi Capitals were one of the most fearsome teams to enter the tournament because of the quality of their top order. Regardless of whether or not they still carry that label, their performance does not match up with the reputation of their batsmen. They still have six games left, but if they don’t win their upcoming match, that may not be enough.
Delhi Capitals currently sit sixth in the points table with eight points from their first three games. Lose-one, win-one is the pattern they’ve followed in their last six games, and they’ll be looking to bring some cohesion to an uneven campaign.
Not only did they falter on the field, but the management and captain’s decisions were at times dubious as well. As a result, the team has a low net run rate, which can make a big difference in the final stages of the competition.
In spite of all this, the Washington Capitals aren’t completely doomed. Prithvi Shaw and David Warner have been the best opening duo in the tournament thus far. They are both lightning-quick starters who can put an opponent’s game away in a hurry. In addition, they have a strong batting line-up, with Axar Patel and Shadul Thakur able to play at seven and eight respectively. In order to get the most out of Rovman Powell, the team would need to find a better way to utilise his big-hitting abilities. If they continue to play the way they have, they will have to play flawlessly in their next match. However, if they are able to do so, it will be extremely difficult for us to get past them.
Delhi Capitals Playing 11
Rishabh Pant (c & wk), Prithvi Shaw, David Warner, Mitchell Marsh, Lalit Yadav, Rovman Powell, Axar Patel, Shardul Thakur, Kuldeep Yadav, Mustafizur Rahman, Chetan Sakariya.
Lucknow Super Giants
Lucknow Super Giants are fortunate to be in the upper echelons of the points table, especially after their recent performance. KL Rahul was furious at the end of the first innings because they had lost their way after a promising start. They had other ideas, however, as their bowlers were able to keep Punjab Kings at bay with relative ease.
If they win this game, Lucknow Super Giants will be one step closer to securing a playoff berth and occupying the top two spots in the standings. In addition, they will benefit from a respectable net run rate of 0.41 if the game becomes tight toward the end.
Lucknow Super Giants Playing 11

DC vs LSG Betting Tips
For both teams, this is a significant match, albeit for very different reasons. While Lucknow Super Giants aim to become the first team from the city to make the playoffs, Delhi Capitals are battling to stay relevant. There are both strengths and weaknesses on each of these sides, but the one that is better able to maintain its composure is likely to win out. Lucknow Super Giants appear to be in a better position based on this and the teams’ respective strengths and weaknesses. We’d bet on the Delhi Capitals to win because of that, as well as the odds that are being offered, and you should, too.
