BBL is one of the world’s best T20 leagues and features some of the best cricket. Australian cricket has a lot of depth and the pitches they play on allow for some exciting cricket. Taking a look at the BBL from a betting perspective, we hope to identify some of the most promising betting opportunities for the upcoming season.

BBL 2021-22 Betting

BBL 2021-22 Winner

Sydney Sixers (4.00)

Cricket betting sites have labelled the Sydney Sixers as favourites and are currently offering odds of 4.50. That’s a little too short in our opinion, and there are better value options out there.

Despite their recent success, the Sydney Sixers appear to be overly reliant on Josh Philippe at the top of the order. In addition to James Vince and Moises Henriques, the team’s other leading batsmen.

Dan Christian, the team’s all-rounder, will get the bulk of the starts and look to build on his strong season last year. All four of these players are part of the Sydney Sixers’ squad, which gives them a fair amount of options.

Although the Sydney Sixers are undeniably talented, their odds of winning aren’t high enough to warrant the risk, in our opinion.

Perth Scorchers (5.00)

The Perth Scorchers are one of the most successful BBL teams, but the last few seasons have not been kind to them. Their odds are just a tad better. We believe they have a good chance of making a comeback and winning the championship.

The team will be led by Mitchell Marsh, both as captain and as a batsman. We expect him to be a dominant force in the BBL this season after he played a key role in Australia’s victory at the T20 World Cup.

The batsmen Cameron Bancroft, Josh Inglis, Ashton Turner, and Colin Munro are all excellent players.. The Perth Scorchers have always been a little thin at the top, but this year things appear to be a little more balanced.

The quartet of Andrew Tye, Peter Hatzglou, Matthew Kelly, and Ashton Agar should be able to get the ball rolling for a deep run in the title game with their bowling abilities. Mitchell Marsh is expected to bowl on a regular basis as well. However, Perth Scorchers can overcome the loss of Jhye Richardson to the Australian Test team.

Bottom Teams of BBL 2021-2022

Brisbane Heat (6.50)

The Melbourne Renegades (3.60) and the Adelaide Strikers (4.33) have been given better odds to finish last by the cricket betting sites, but we believe that betting on the Brisbane Heat is worthwhile.

Chris Lynn’s performance has been inconsistent for some time now, but the team still looks to him to carry the load in the majority of games. Similarly, players such as Jimmy Pierson, Ben Duckett, and Sam Heazlett aren’t the most dependable in this regard. Because Marnus Labuschagne will be away with the Australian Test team, the batting lineup will be even more weakened.

A player like Tom Banton could make a difference, but he has also fallen out of favour and is no longer a part of England’s national team.

For Brisbane Heat, it’s all about Mitch Swepson and Mujeeb ur Rahman, but there aren’t many seam bowlers to choose from.

We also like these other BBL 2021-22 betting tips:

  • The top Batsman in BBL 2021-22 is Mitchell Marsh (11.00)
  • In BBL 2021-2022. Daniel Sams is the best bowler in the league (12.00)
  • Alex Hales is the best batsman for the Sydney Thunder (2.10)
  • Mitch Swepson is Brisbane Heat’s best bowler (8.00)

Tournament Format

Twenty-over cricket is used in the tournament’s format, and most matchups occur after dark. In order to increase stadium attendance and TPR ratings, the events are heavily promoted in the media.

The semi-finals will be decided by a point system, and each team will play every other team in the tournament. Grand Finale and winner will be decided after a playoff round. In the event of a draw, the game will be decided by a super over, which will take place if the score is tied.

Network Ten is the Big Bash League’s official broadcast partner this season and will broadcast all 35 matches. In addition to Mark Waugh, Ricky Ponting, Adam Gilchrist and Damien Fleming, Network Ten has brought in some of the best cricket commentators in Australia.

Big Bash League History

The Indian Premier League is without a doubt the world’s most prestigious Twenty20 domestic tournament (IPL). T20 leagues have been launched in a number of countries following the success of the Indian Premier League (IPL). In the 2011-2012 season, Australia was one of the countries that decided to start their own league. The inaugural season of Twenty20 cricket in Australia was a huge success, as they were able to entice cricketing legend Shane Warne back into the game. Big Bash League’s first season was a resounding success, and he was just one of many Aussie cricketers to play in it.

The competition attracts players from all over the world because of the generous prize money on offer. Players like Chris Gayle, Kieron Pollard, Shahid Afridi, and Johan Botha, who are among the best in the world, are regulars in the league.

If you’re a young Australian cricketer, the Big Bash League gives you the opportunity to make your mark and put your name forward for national selection. Aaron Finch, Moise Henriques, and Nathan-Coulter Nile are just a few examples of cricketers who have quickly made their way to the international stage after putting in impressive performances for their teams.

For another reason, the Champions League Twenty 20 tournament, which takes place every year, has seen a sudden surge in popularity in recent years. Four teams from the Indian Premier League (IPL) and two from the Big Bash League and Caribbean Premier League are selected for this tournament. In the same calendar year as the Champions League, the Champions League Twenty 20 tournament offers players a chance to earn even more money.

Why is it called the Big Bash League?

Once known as the Kentucky Fried Chicken Twenty 20 Big Bash, the tournament is now known as the KFC Big Bash Twenty 20. (KFC). The Big Bash League, on the other hand, is commonly referred to as the tournament in cricketing circles.

State teams competed against each other in a point-based system in the first tournament. Since the tournament is now city-based, there may be more than one team from a single state participating in it. However, the format is the same.

Previous Results

Due to the involvement of Cricket Australia, all of these games will take place at some of the country’s premier cricket grounds. Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG), West Australian Cricket Ground (WACA), Adelaide Oval (AFL), and Etihad Stadium (Victoria).

The Sydney Sixers defeated the Perth Scorchers at the WACA to claim the 2011-2012 title. The Perth Scorchers were once again in the final of the 2012-2013 tournament, but they were beaten by the Brisbane Heat.

Changes in BIG BASH 2021-22

Power Surge – The first rule is the simplest, but it will have the greatest impact on your success. Only after ten overs have been bowled can teams use two additional power plays. The use of optional powerplays in one-day international cricket (ODI) has been unsuccessful to date. Rather than being strategically used, they are often taken as soon as they become available. At the end of the game, power hitters and established hitters have the option of going for it even more.

Bash Surge – This, in our opinion, is a bit of a ploy. Six points are at stake in each BBL match. There are three for the victory and one for the bash boost. At the midway point of the season, this award is given to the player who has scored the most runs. Imagine that two teams are vying for a place in the group stage of a tournament. It’s a one-on-one situation for the two teams. After being held to a score of 100 at halftime, Team One scores 220. There are 110 runs scored by Team Two, but they lose by 75 runs. Team two has made it to the next round.

X-Factor Player – After the 10th Over of the first inning, a 12th and a 13th player can be added to the roster. While it’s a rule that will see little use, at least some consideration went into it. After a maximum of one over, only batting or bowling can be used as a replacement. The player can be replaced if a selection error has occurred. We don’t see this every day.

Teams in BBL 2021-22

Adelaide Strikers

An early look at the 2020-21 Adelaide Strikers BBL squad: A number of Adelaide Strikers weaknesses were addressed during this year’ s off-season activities. We think they did a good job by bringing Matt Renshaw on board. One of Australia’s best Twenty20 players, his T20 skills have improved greatly. During the course of the previous season, he achieved great success and was also able to contribute with the bat. Phil Salt, Jake Weatherald, Travis Head, Jonathan Wells, and Alex Carey are all likely candidates to start at the top of the lineup. As long as Cameron White doesn’t get injured, this team should be fine. Rashid Khan, fresh off a stellar IPL season, is a lock to play a significant role in the bowling attack. Other notable players include Peter Siddle, Wes Agar, Daniel Worrall, and possibly Danny Briggs. The Strikers’ batting appears to be improving, and most of their top-choice bowlers will be retained. Overall, this group is more balanced.

Brisbane Heat

Matt Renshaw and Ben Cutting, two of the Heat’s most important players, have both left the team ahead of the Big Bash season. Cooper and Wildermuth have stepped in to fill the void left by their predecessors. What Chris Lynn, Tom Banton, and Max Bryant have in store for us is being eagerly anticipated by all of us. However, this game will be exciting, but it won’t be enough to keep the Heat in the playoffs on a consistent basis. We don’t expect it to happen this time either. Aside from Jimmy Pierson, who will be available if Marcus Labuschagne is not, both players will be eager to show what they can do in T20.

Additionally, Mitchell Swepson, Mark Steketee, and Morne Morkel make up a formidable bowling attack led by Mujeeb ur Rehman. Brisbane Heat will struggle unless either Lynn or Banton have a great season. The team has remained unchanged since the departures of Renshaw and Cutting.

Hobart Hurricans

This season, despite their disappointing fourth-place finish in the previous campaign, we expect them to perform. In the absence of captain Matthew Wade, the team’s batting is likely to suffer. To replace Wade, he has Dawid Malan, one of the world’s best T20 batsmen at the moment. BBL legend Darcy Short’s heroics have often been insufficient in the past. Colin Ingram, Peter Handscomb, and Ben McDermott form a solid middle order. The Hurricanes will be a serious contender in the BBL if Malan can replicate his international consistency. We can expect Rille Meredith and David Moody to carry on the Hurricanes tradition of speed this season. In the absence of Jofra Archer and George Bailey, the Hurricanes continue to suffer significant losses. We believe Keemo Paul, a relatively unknown player on the international scene, has a shot at making an impact. The Hurricanes have sacrificed some of their bowling in order to compensate for their batting. The team’s balance appears to be out of whack, but it is undeniably a dangerous one.

Melbourne Renegades

With the help of Noor Ahmad, a teenage spinner from Afghanistan, they are hoping to find the next great world-beater. For the Melbourne Renegades, there is no doubt that they will encounter many difficulties. There are four players who are not in the BBL test squad: Aaron Finch, Sam Harper, Marcus Harris, and Shaun Marsh. Former BBL greats Finch and Marsh, who are nearing the end of their careers, may or may not still be able to give it their all. Veterans like Dan Christian, Jack Wildermuth, and Tom Cooper are no longer on the Renegades’ roster. His T20 experience makes Rilee Rossouw an excellent addition to the team. A successful stint with the Mumbai Indians has brought back the former captain, who will be supported by Imran Tahir. When the going is good, James Pattinson is excellent against spinners. Mohammad Nabi and Kane Richardson should form the core of a solid line-up. The team’s ageing stars and new strategies will be its greatest challenges. They can only be considered mid-table contenders in our opinion.

Melbourne Stars

When it comes to winning the championship, our team believes that Melbourne Stars came very close last season. Players like Jonny Bairstow and Nicholas Pooran have made significant contributions to their team this season, we believe Bairstow’s ability to open his batting with a bang every time he steps out is a perfect complement to Pooran’s batsmanship. He and Glenn Maxwell could be a force in the middle of the order if they worked together. Marcus Stoinis, in addition to Bairstow, should join him at the top of the lineup. Stoinis scored more than 700 runs in the previous season, and he also has a stellar IPL record to back it up. In addition to Dunk, Maddinson, and Cartright, there are a number of bowlers in this lineup. With Zampa, Stanlake, Khan, and Coulter-Nile, the innings will be completely different. Nathan Coulter-Nile and Adam Zampa are among the other standout bowlers. Combined, they will be a serious threat. The absence of players from the Melbourne Stars due to international commitments will have a negative impact on the team. They appear to have most of their bases covered.

Perth Scorchers

The Perth Scorchers’ batting lineup for the upcoming season includes Jason Roy and Liam Livingstone. Both of them will help the Perth sixes. The Perth Scorchers could benefit from the addition of Colin Munro in a Twenty20 tournament. If all of them were available at the same time, it would be a difficult lineup to beat. With the additions of Mitchell Marsh, Cameron Bancroft, and Ashton Turner, the team will have a constant source of power. Later in the game, the Perth Scorchers will be well-positioned to take advantage of the ‘Power Surge.’ This season’s Perth Scorchers are still heavily reliant on their bowling, which hasn’t changed. Bowlers Matthew Kelly, Jhye Richardson, Jason Nehrendorff, and Andrew Tye are all excellent but lack reliable spin options. The Perth Scorchers appear to be on their way to reclaiming their BBL title.

Sydney Sixers

All but a few members of the Big Bash champions will return for the upcoming season. A problem could arise. They had a good year last year, and some players, like Tom Curran, had excellent years. Curran’s bowling style will not be suited to the Australian pitches, and he is expected to struggle with the bat as well. However, Carlos Brathwaite is probably overestimated. With the bat, he isn’t very consistent, and his bowling is a shadow of what Curran can do. Josh Phillipe’s performance for the Sydney Sixers in this BBL will have a significant impact. There is a chance Moises Henriques will not play as well as he does now that he is retiring. The Sydney Sixers roster includes rising Australian stars Hayden Kerr, Lloyd Pope, Jack Edwards, and Jordan Silk, but we are sceptical of their ability to consistently perform and take their games to the next level.

Sydney Thunder

Shane Watson will no longer be a part of the Sydney Thunder, and his absence can already be felt. As Usman Khawaja and Alex Hales are not in the Australian team, the batting will be heavily reliant on them. Alex Ross, Sam Billings, and Jason Sangha round out the group’s batting lineup as important pieces. A return to the BBL is an opportunity for both to re-establish themselves. The Sydney Thunder lineup has a distinct style of batting and bowling compared to other teams. Brendan Doggett, Daniel Sams, and Ben Cutting will take the bowling to new heights after Chris Green has reworked his action. I think Arjun Nair is overrated as well. Ben Cutting, Daniel Sams, and Brendan Doggett should be the wicketkeepers. The presence of Sydney Thunder at the bottom of the order provides some muscle. Last year saw Cutting hit well in the lower order as well.
